Visiting Student: From Minnesota State Institution

GETTING STARTED

If you're currently enrolled at another Minnesota State institution (excluding the University of Minnesota system—please see steps for Visiting Students: Non-Minnesota State), and you want to take a course or two at Anoka-Ramsey, you don’t need to submit an application. Just follow the steps below:

Admissions Checklist

  1. Verify Credits Transfer Back

Before registering, confirm with your home Minnesota State institution how the courses you wish to take at ARCC will transfer back. Please note that the receiving institution determines course transferability.

  2. Register for Your Course(s)

    • Log into your home Minnesota State institution’s eServices account with your StarID and password.
    • Navigate to Courses & Registration on the left and select Search for a Course.
    • In the College/University dropdown, choose Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Enter your course search criteria.
    • Select your desired course and click the add button (+) on the left.
    • Click OK on the pop-up to go to Review My Plan.
    • Check the box next to the course to select it, then click the blue Select Course(s) to Proceed to Register button.
    • Enter your StarID password and click the blue Register button to complete your registration.
    Courses with Prerequisites

If the course has prerequisites, please complete the Prerequisite Registration form for help with your registration. Be sure to attach a copy of your transcript.

  3. Set Up Your Tuition and Fees Payment

Explore your payment options here. You must set up your payment before the tuition payment deadline to avoid being dropped from your courses.

As a visiting student, please note that you are not eligible for financial aid at ARCC. If you receive financial aid from your home institution, check with them regarding your eligibility and complete a financial aid consortium agreement.

If you don’t have a home institution and wish to apply for financial aid, you’ll need to enroll as a degree-seeking student at ARCC.

  4. Find Your Course Materials / Textbooks

To locate the required textbooks and course materials, please visit the Campus Store's website.

  5. Access Technology Resources

  6. Request Credit Transfer

After your final grade(s) have posted for the semester, your home Minnesota State institution can retrieve your official ARCC transcript electronically and at no cost. Please contact your school’s Registrar’s Office (sometimes referred to as the Records/Registration Office) to initiate this process.
