Music Department springs into April with a trio of musical events

Jazz Ensemble performs a wide variety of jazz styles from swing to Latin to funk. This ensemble performs 2-4 times per semester. All instrumentalists, not just “traditional jazz” instrumentalists, are encouraged to join, and the ensemble is open to all instrumentalists who can read music (standard music notation).

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Music Department will host three major events in April: a joint concert band performance with Augsburg University, a jazz ensemble performance, and a choir concert to close out the month.

Concert Band features students who play brass, woodwind, or percussion instruments. There is a focus on performing a wide variety of genres and styles while enjoying the music-making process. The concert band performs two to four times per semester both on and off campus.

The Jazz Ensemble performs a wide variety of jazz styles from swing to Latin to funk. This ensemble performs two to four times per semester.

The Concert Choir is a 60-80 voice ensemble that performs in three on-campus concerts per year, Concert Choir also participates in a day-tour each semester, traveling to area schools, churches, synagogues and other colleges. Every year, the Concert Choir performs a masterwork-level piece of repertoire with a professional orchestra.
