Anoka-Ramsey Names Brian Wollum Interim Dean of Student Affairs at Cambridge Campus
December 02, 2024
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is pleased to welcome Brian Wollum as its new Interim Dean of Student Affairs at its Cambridge Campus.
Wollum has worked at Anoka-Ramsey since 2015, serving as the Director of Student Success and Retention. In that role, he supervised teams in Academic Advising, Veterans Services and Adult Transitions, leading efforts to enhance the student experience and drive student success. He holds both a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Mankato State University.
Throughout his career he’s been drawn to community and technical education environments.
“I absolutely love the mission of community colleges being open access I absolutely love the diversity of students,” Wollum says. “We have such a wide variety of students with different goals and different needs. And to me, it's exciting to work with students and really help them achieve their goals.”
In his new role, Wollum says he’s looking forward to continuing to expand resources for students at Anoka-Ramsey.
“What really drew me to this position was the fact that I could make such a big impact on our students at the college,” Wollum says. “I think that right now student affairs and the college in general are really looking ahead at how we can enhance our services to better support students.”
He’s also keeping an eye on the unique challenges and opportunities for Anoka-Ramsey’s Cambridge Campus.
“Regardless of which campus we’re talking about, COVID-19 has done a number on the culture of the campus and its vibrancy,” Wollum says. “I’m really excited to dive in and see how I can support creating a more vibrant and interactive campus for our students, faculty and staff.”
Wollum’s appointment began October 23, 2024.
