General/Transfer Students

Step 1: Complete the Online Orientation Request Survey

After submitting the survey, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access and complete the Online Orientation. Expect to receive information about Step 2 within 1-2 business days.

Step 2: Online Orientation 

Once you complete the orientation in D2L Brightspace, you will be assigned an Academic Advisor within 1-2 business days. They will send you a welcome email with details on how to schedule an appointment. 

Step 3: Advising/Registration Appointment 

After completing online orientation, you can meet with your advisor to discuss your upcoming semester, course registration, and any final steps. This appointment can be held in-person or virtually via Zoom. 

How to Prepare for Orientation & Registration

Apply and Be Accepted to Anoka-Ramsey 
Ensure you have applied and been accepted. If you need assistance, call 763-433-1100.

Know Your StarID and Password 
Your StarID is your login for all campus technology. 

Begin the Financial Aid Process (if applicable) 
Visit studentaid.gov to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use Anoka-Ramsey’s school code: 002332. 
     For Summer 2025, complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA application.
     For Fall 2025, complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA application.

Send Official Transcripts (if applicable) 
If you’ve taken previous college coursework (including PSEO, AP, CLEP, or IB credits), send official transcripts to Anoka-Ramsey.  
     If you haven’t taken college courses, you can skip this step. 

Familiarize Yourself with Anoka-Ramsey Student Technology 
Access information on essential technology, including your student email, D2L Brightspace, and campus WiFi. 

Course Registration Dates

Summer 2025: 

  • Registration is currently open for new and transfer students who have completed placement and online orientation and will remain available until summer classes begin.

Fall 2025: 

  • Registration for new and transfer students who have completed placement and online orientation will begin on Wednesday, April 2.
