What is your approach to teaching?
Answer
My teaching philosophy is to guide students and educate them on the skills necessary to provide safe, holistic care. By utilizing active learning techniques, the aim is to enable students to take what they have learned and extrapolate alternatives to choose the best course of action to promote the best care possible. This strategy will promote the student's ability to understand that lifelong learning is important to maintain skills, and continually update skills for their dynamic field of nursing. The overarching goal is to progressively immerse them in their role as they progress through the program.

What are some ways that you help students succeed when they need extra help?
Answer
I will meet one-on-one or in small groups with students. At times additional study sessions are offered for the entire class if needed.

Fun Fact #1
I like to dance and participate in an adult tap and jazz class. There is a performance at the end of the year and some of the group (me included) like to compete.

Fun Fact #2
While I do not have much time, I like to do arts and crafts. Making jewelry is something I find relaxing.

I like science fiction, crime/detective, and suspense novels as well as watching those types of shows and movies.
