What is your teaching statement?
Answer
As a graduate of ARCC nursing program in 1999, I am proud of this school and program. My passion lies with the community college nursing programs, and I know that we put out some very good nurses!

What inspires you as a teacher?
Answer
I have always loved helping new nurses learn which is what led me to pursue nursing education.

How would you describe what happens during one of your most successful classes?
Answer
It’s always such a joy when a student has one of those “aha!” moments :)

What makes your curriculum interesting or valuable to students?
Answer
Most seem to love the real life stories! My students know that I use stories of my past experiences to help them learn.

What are some ways that you help students succeed when they need extra help?
Answer
I believe that discussing study strategies and time management are the most important ways to help students succeed.

How do you help your students get the most out of your class?
Answer
Read before class please!! I know it’s tough but oh so important!

I have a savanna bengal that I walk on a medium size dog harness/leash (suggested by his vet to make him a nicer cat).

When I was younger, I used to drag race my 65 Mustang.

I can roof a house, do sheet rock, and do tile and other flooring. My dad didn’t have any boys, but he had us two girls!
